Executive Director of AGVA, advisory board member
Dr. Jim Grunwald has been involved with AGVA from its beginning and serves as the executive director, overseeing its day-to-day operations.
He is an Educational Technology professor emeritus and teaches in the Martin Luther College online graduate program. He has been involved with online teaching, course development, course management, and instructor training since 2000.
Superintendent/Principal of AGVA, advisory board member
Mr. David Rust joined AGVA in 2022 as superintendent and principal, working primarily with curriculum, instructors, and families. Before coming to AGVA, Dave served as principal of an elementary school in the Milwaukee, WI, area.
Dave also teaches the Introduction to Christianity course for AGVA.

Karl Peterson served on the AGVA Board of Directors from 2014-2019 and was a co-coordinator of the 2018-19 self-study committee and a member of the planning committee. He also taught Latin courses for AGVA for several years.
In 2021, Karl was invited to rejoin the AGVA Board of Directors and was elected Chairman.
From 2009-2012 Karl served as "Head of School" for the "Insight School of Wisconsin," a 9-12 grade online program with about 500 students.

Joshua Schoeneck was elected as a member of the Board of Directors in 2020 and became vice-chairman in 2022.
He serves as an instructor, registrar, and Director of Technology at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson, WI.
He also teaches the AP Computer Science A and Computer Graphics courses for AGVA.

Mr. Paul Patterson began serving on the AGVA Board of Directors in 2020 as a representative from the WELS Commission on Lutheran Schools (CLS). At the CLS he serves as the associate director and oversees the WELS School Accreditation (WELSSA) program.

Prof. Peter Baganz served on the AGVA Board of Directors as treasurer from 2012-2018. In 2021 he was invited to rejoin the board and serve as vice-chairman. In 2022 he transitioned to the position of treasurer.
Peter is a Professor of History at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. In the past, he taught the Web Page Design course for AGVA and now teaches the AP U.S. History course.

Rev. Gregory Bork serves AGVA as a member of the Board of Directors, first elected in 2018.
He currently serves as senior pastor and high school administrator at Apostles Lutheran in San Jose, CA. He also teaches AP Psychology and Introduction to Psychology for AGVA.

Prof. Ted Klug served on the AGVA Board of Directors as vice-chairman from 2012-2017 and was elected back to the board in 2019.
Ted serves as Director of Admissions at Martin Luther College (MLC) in New Ulm, MN. Before coming to MLC he served as principal at Evergreen Lutheran High School in Tacoma, WA. He has also served as the AGVA instructor of the Introduction to Programming course.
