Dr. Jim Grunwald has been involved with AGVA from its beginning and serves as the financial director, overseeing tuition and other financial matters for AGVA.

He is an Educational Technology professor emeritus and taught in the Martin Luther College online graduate program. He has been involved with online teaching, course development,  course management, and instructor training since 2000.

David Rust

Mr. David Rust joined AGVA in 2022 as superintendent and principal, working primarily with curriculum, instructors, and families. Before coming to AGVA, Dave served as principal of an elementary school in the Milwaukee, WI, area. 

Scott Sievert

Scott Sievert serves AGVA as a member of the Board of Directors, first elected in 2020.

Kurt Gosdeck

Board of Directors Vice-Chairman - kurt.gosdeck@stmarkpartners.org 

Kurt Gosdeck was elected as a member of the Board of Directors in 2023 as a representative for AGVA partner elementary schools.

Kurt serves as assistant principal and director of technology at St. Mark Lutheran School in Green Bay, WI.

Kurt also teacher the Computer Applications course for AGVA.

Bradley Nehls

Mr. Bradely Nehls was elected to the AGVA Board of Directors in 2022 as a high school representative. 

Bradley is a teacher and registrar at Minnesota Valley Lutheran high school, New Ulm, MN. 

Chad Marohn

Mr. Chad Marohn was elected to the board of directors as our AGVA as a AGVA partner high school representative in 2026.

Chad serves at Cornerstone Lutheran High School in Eau Claire, WI.  His roles include principal and social studies instructor.    Cornerstone Lutheran High School makes partners with Amazing Grace Virtual Academy to provide students with expanded learning opportunities. 

Daniel Nolte

Mr. Daniel Nolte was elected to the board of directors as our AGVA partner high school representative in 2023. 

Daniel currently serves as Technology Director, PLTW Computer Science teacher, and VEX robotics coach at Shoreland Lutheran High School in Kenosha, WI.

Greg Bork

Pastor Bork was elected to the board of directors as our AGVA partner high school representative in 2026.  Pastor Bork has previously served on the Board of Directors.  

Pastor Bork is the Lead Pastor at Apostles Lutheran Church in San Jose, CA and the administrator and a teacher at Apostles Lutheran High School.  He teaches the AP Psychology and Introduction to Psychology courses for AGVA and has previously served three terms on the Board.  He believes strongly in the value of and necessity for Christian Education, and gladly supports the ministry of AGVA. 

Evan Kolander

Evan Kolander was elected as a member of the Board of Directors in 2023 as a representative for AGVA partner high schools.

Evan is the principal at Evergreen Lutheran High School in Tacoma, WA and teaches sections of 9th and 12th grade history classes for ELHS. 

Evan also teaches the World History, and U.S. History courses for AGVA. 

Mark Schutz

Pastor Mark Schutz was elected as a member of the Board of Directors in 2025 as a representative for AGVA Full Time Families.

Mark has served as the Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Spearfish, South Dakota since 2007.  

Mark has two children as full time  AGVA students.
